Client: Enterprise plc, for Scottish Power Energy Networks (SPEN)
Location: Cheshire and North Wales
Utilergy completed a two year contract to support Enterprise in the completion of asset refurbishment works for Scottish Power Energy Networks. We completed a wide range of activities on the electricity distribution system including high and low voltage overhead line refurbishment, substation rebuilds, service renewals, low voltage rebuilds, and large scale restringing of low voltage and high voltage conductors.
A significant proportion of the work was required to fulfill the Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations (ESQCR), with Utilergy tasked to provide the survey and design of solutions to create the ongoing pipeline of work for the construction teams, as we had done in our previous contract with SPEN. We split our team of 28 site employees into two departments, with one team concentrating on survey and design, and the other completing the construction activities.
A key part of this contract was to add value for the client. Where possible when completing high voltage refurbishment projects, we would provide solutions for defects on the associated low voltage circuits, for completion under the same outage conditions, thus saving Customer Minutes Lost (CML) for the client.
