Gas Distribution
Utilergy provides a range of Gas Distribution services for Northern Gas Networks in the North of England. Predominantly in the Cumbrian region, we have framework contracts for Gas mains replacement, diversion, condition and reinforcement; Rapid Response Emergency Services; HDD Directional Drilling; and Gas Purge and Relight Services.
Our client is responsible for distributing gas to homes and businesses across the North of England, covering West, East & North Yorkshire, the North East and Cumbria. The pipeline network, which amounts to around 36,000 Kilometres of pipeline, provides gas to approximately 2.5 million customers across the region. As a service provider to Northern Gas Networks we have a responsibility to complete work activities in line with their health, safety and environment policies and procedures, engineering policy and procedures, and their Customer Charter so that standards of service set by Ofgem are met.
Our activities include:
- Excavation
- Backfill
- Temporary and permanent reinstatement to the latest HAUC specifications
- Laying and relaying of PE mains up to 630m diameter up to and including 7 bar pressure
- Laying and relaying of steel mains up to 48”/1200mm diameter, up to and including 7 bar pressure
- Laying and relaying of service pipes
- Testing to main laying standards
- All associated abandonment
- Directional drilling to install pipes and ducts in diameters up to 355mm
- Rapid Response to complete Gas Emergency Services associated with the NGN’s Customer Operations Emergency Locate and Repair Programme
- Gas Purge and Re-light services
