ESQCR Low Ground Clearance Solutions Provision

Client: Scottish Power Energy Networks (SPEN)
Location: Cheshire and North Wales

Our client had 8500 known low ground clearance defects on their overhead line system, which required survey and the design of solutions to overcome each defect, in order to comply with the Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations (ESQCR).

Utilergy completed a 12 month contract to survey the defects and design the solutions, which would enable future construction teams to attend site and complete the agreed solution efficiently.  The process for creating each design included a risk analysis, creation of a budget to complete, gaining agreement from customers for the works to be completed on their property, and a detailed digital drawing of the design.  Our objective was to provide the most cost effective solution which removed each defect, without the need for the complete refurbishment of the surrounding network.  Through the inspection process our team discovered 11,800 defects and successfully designed the most effective solution for each of them.
