Client: Northern Gas Networks
Location: Cumbria
We are completing our third framework contract to deliver profuse gas pipe works in the county of Cumbria. Our scope of our works is to lay or relay metal and plastic gas mains and services as part of our client’s asset replacement, diversion, condition and reinforcement programmes.
This region provides very challenging conditions for our teams, as it is often remote, exposed and prone to adverse weather conditions. It is therefore essential that our teams remain safety focused at all times.
We plan our projects taking into account the impact our activities could have on the areas in which we are working. We choose from insertion, open cut and directional drilling methods of excavation to complete our works, opting for the most suitable methods to suit the needs of each project. By example: during the completion of one of our projects to lay four kilometres of medium pressure gas main in the remote, rural area of Alston, we opted to use directional drilling methods whilst reinforcing the gas network in order to minimise our impact on the environment.
